The Galway Continental Christmas Market returns to Eyre Square next week, and is set to run for five days longer than before.
The market, which is now in its third year, will run from Friday November 23 to Saturday December 22, and featuring traders from across Ireland and Europe. It will feature a packed entertainment schedule comprising live music, DJs, performers, puppet shows, storytelling, school choirs, carol singing, and charity and community events.
Santa’s Grotto will be run by local charities and the popular Bier Keller will play host to various events throughout the duration of the market.
“With last year’s event attracting more than 400,000 visitors to the city and generating in excess of €11 million for the local economy, creating attractions for our city’s businesses is crucial,” said chair of the Galway City Business Association, Anthony Ryan. “We look forward to an even better market this Christmas.”
