The first of a series of books from new Irish brand Eire’s Kids will be launched in Galway next week. Oisin the Brave — Moon Adventure sees Oisín and his dragon, Orane of N'Scaul, travel through the Dolmen of Time to discover the mystery behind a strange flashing light coming from the surface of the moon. The book will be launched in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop on Saturday November 24 at 11am.
Written and illustrated by Galway couple Michelle Melville and Derek Mulveen, the book — which is aimed at children aged three to seven — ignites the imagination with beautiful illustrations and exciting characters.
Oisin the Brave — Moon Adventure is the first in a series of adventure books which showcase the Irish language in a fun, illustrated, way, making it easy for children to learn a cúpla focal.
“This story merges legend Irish with a modern Irish stories with characters such as Oisin and his dragon friend Orane, bringing innocence back to children,” said Michelle Melville.
“With so much emphasis on modern technology and video games, we feel books are the best form of entertainment as it brings parents and children together, and encourages children to use their imagination,” added Derek Mulveen.
