THE FIRST What If, Why Not? adventure film festival, featuring adventure films, guest speakers, and live music, takes place in Galway on Friday November 23 and Saturday 24.
The festival will screen award winning adventure sport films from Ireland and across the globe and host talks by Irish adventurers about what drives them to take unimaginable risks in the pursuit of adventure.
Speakers will be John McCarthy, Irish big wave surfer; Sean McGowan, who rowed across the Atlantic Ocean solo; Mike Jones, who this year kayaked solo around Ireland; freediver Feargus Callagy; Risteard Ó Domhnaill, maker of award-winning film The Pipe; and caver Stephen ‘Jock’ Read.
There will also be workshops and presentations by film makers for film makers. All the above take place in the Radisson Blu Hotel. The festival will also host live music events in Kelly’s Bar, The Cellar, and the Bierhaus.
