As we finally hit December numbers of shoppers on Galway’s streets are on the increase for the run up to Christmas.
Unfortunately other individuals on the increase are the opportunistic thiefs, pickpocketers, according to Gardai in the region.
The Gardai Siochana in Galway are asking people to be vigilant with their property while out in shopping crowds this festive season.
To combat the street tyrant, it is essential to make sure that any handbags that they may be carrying are kept securely closed and if you have cash be certain it is kept in an inside jacket pocket to reduce the likelihood of being stolen.
