Dog rescue charity MADRA to hold adoption day this weekend

A dog adoption day will take place this weekend at Trusty Pet Pals dog day care centre in Briarhill Business Park. The event, organised by MADRA Mutts Anonymous Dog Rescue and Adoption, will take place on Saturday from 11am to 4pm.

The day will offer those interested in adopting a dog an opportunity to talk to the MADRA team and to discuss the process. Visitors will also get to meet some of the dogs and puppies that are currently looking for new homes.

Last week the charity was forced to make a special public appeal for foster homes due to the large number of pups that came into its care over a 24 hour period. A number of these pups will be at the adoption day, along with some of the longer-term residents of the kennels.

Potential dog owners interested in meeting a specific dog from the Connemara-based shelter should contact MADRA in advance, as only a selection of the dogs will be there on the day. For more information call Marina Fiddler on 086 8149026.

Dog training advice will also be available on the day from registered dog trainer and MADRA co-founder Tara Nic Dhiarmada. To make an appointment for a training session text Tara on 087 9103101
