CAHERLISTRANE GAA Club will host the premiere of The Pull, a new comic play with a Gaelic games theme, on Friday November 16 at 8pm.
The Pull is set in the fictional town of Ballybore, where the local GAA club claims to pre-date the foundation of the GAA by 130 years, but have run into financial trouble.
“Ballybore GAA Club are only €1,000 in debt but it feels like €1 million to the people involved,” says Liam. “They set about trying to solve the problem and decide to pull a truck around their home town to raise money and get themselves in the Guinness Book of Records. Chaos ensues and they end up getting in way over their heads.”
This is the first play from Half Solid Productions established by Mayo writers and actors John Corless and Liam Horan. Liam is the former Irish Independent Gaelic games correspondent and creator of the Championship Man series on RTÉ Radio One.
The Pull is suitable for all ages. Tickets are €10 from Caherlistrane GAA club. The show doubles as a fund-raiser for the club. For more information contact 093 - 55306 or see www.halfsolid.com
