Anthony Kearns to sing at Town Hall

ANTHONY KEARNS, described as “Ireland’s foremost tenor...a great ambassador for Ireland” by Michael Collins, Ireland’s Ambassador to the US, is coming to Galway.

Anthony will perform at the Town Hall Theatre on Friday November 16 at 8pm. He has been called “a superb singer, a confident, compelling performer” by The Nashville Scene; while Steffanie Pearce, the Opera Naples general and artistic director said of him: “Voices like this don’t come along very often. It’s a voice-of-the-century voice.”

The Wexford man first came to attention as a member of The Irish Tenors with whom he has enjoyed great success. As a solo performer he has won awards such as the Dermot Troy Trophy for oratorio in 1995 and 1996; he has played Carmen’s Don Jose and the title roles in Don Giovanni and Faust.

He has also performed at the prestigious Capitol Hill Club in Washington DC and sang for the National Moment of Remembrance in Washington DC for the US Memorial Day celebrations.

Tickets are available from the Town Hall on 091 - 569777 and www.tht.ie
