Changes to voting locations for Children’s Referendum

There have been some changes to voting locations for the upcoming Children’s Referendum.

The Children’s Referendum will be held on Saturday, November 10, from 9am to 10pm, while voting on the four islands will be held on November 8. The returning officer for Galway East and West has issued the following notice to the public in respect of a number of changes to some locations.

The locations that will be changed are as follows: Eyrecourt – from the Social Service Centre to the national school; Ballymacward – from the parish hall to the national school; Killian – the national school in Killian (Newbridge ) is now closed and the voting will take place in Ballaghlea National School in the same area and approximately a mile away; Portumna – from the town and county hall to the national school; Barnaderg – from the community centre to the national school; and Williamstown – from the parochial hall to the national school.

The public are also notified that there has been a small reduction in the number of polling booths in some polling stations throughout the city and county.
