Clarinbridge heritage talks start next week

A series of heritage talks looking at the political history, natural history, and maritime and botanic life of south county Galway region, start next week.

The talks will take place every Tuesday in November, with three events in Claire’s Tea Rooms and one in Jordan’s Bar. All talks run from 7.30pm to 8.30pm

The opening talk is this Tuesday and is by Gordon D’Arcy. It is entitled Discovering Nature in Clarinbridge. On November 13, in Jordan’s Bar, Paul Gosling and Brendan MacMahon will speak on Clais, Púcán, Mallmhúir: glimpses of maritime life on Island Eddy.

Pat Finnegan will speak on The Craughwell Prisoners on November 20 and Cilian Roden will deliver a talk entitled Changing shores and sure-footed plants - Island Eddy’s Natural History on November 27.

Admission is free but donations of between €3 and 5 towards the running costs would be appreciated by the talks organisers the Clarinbridge Arts Group. Booking is advised through 086 - 8351134 or email mark.green @amicustec.ie
