Savour the Festive Food Feast at the g for Console

As the festive season approaches it is time to eat, drink, and be merry. That is exactly what the five star g Hotel has planned for its inaugural Foodie Feast, taking place on Sunday November 18 in aid of Console, a dedicated suicide prevention, intervention, and postvention service, set up in 2002 by Paul Kelly after losing his sister Sharon to suicide.

On the day of the Foodie Feast guests will enjoy a mulled wine reception on arrival at 1pm, while being entertained by wonderful Christmas carols in the grand salon to set the festive ambience. Restaurant gigi’s will be transformed into a Christmas wonderland for this event, and a delicious three course lunch will be served including festive favourites with a distinctive g twist prepared by the g Hotel’s new head chef, Pauline Reilly, and her team.

Pauline Reilly will then share her expertise and top tips on hassle free Christmas cooking for family and friends, with a limited edition cookery booklet for guests. Wine connoisseur Rene Hendriks will then enlighten guests on the most suitable tipple to complement your festive foods from the best bottle of red to the fruitiest champagnes.

“The dedication and hard work carried out by Console is so admirable and hugely beneficial to so many people,” said Triona Gannon, general manager of the g Hotel. “We are delighted to work with Margaret and Phyllis and all those at Console, particularly as their service is required more and more. We are thrilled to have them on board as one of the g Hotel’s charity partners for 2012 and look forward to raising more funds for them. The Foodie Feast promises to be a fantastic Christmas event for guests and we certainly look forward to the festivities.”

All funds raised from the Foodie Feast will go directly to support the counselling services, provided free of charge by Console.

“Christmas can be an exceptionally difficult time for those with depression or for people who have lost a loved one through suicide,” said Margaret Tierney of Console. “The Foodie Feast at the g Hotel is a wonderful opportunity to generate awareness and much needed funding for our services located in Renmore, Galway, while enjoying an evening of fine dining and festive entertainment.”

A limited number of tickets are available for this scrumptious Foodie Feast at the g Hotel, priced at €50 per person. Tickets can be purchased directly from Console by calling (091 ) 744 522 or (087 ) 7978130. For further information visit www.theghotel.ie or www.console.ie
