Europcar to open new Galway branch

Europcar, Europe’s largest car rental company, is poised to create 50 jobs with the opening of two new branches in Ireland, including one in Galway.

Europcar has just opened a new Navan branch, while the Galway branch is due to open in the coming weeks.

The two new branches will increase Europcar’s national footprint to nine locations, adding to the existing branches located in Dublin, Cork, Shannon, Kerry and Knock.

The 50 jobs created are in the customer service, reservations, finance, fleet services and vehicle maintenance sectors of the busines and will be located in Galway, Dublin, Cork, Kerry, Limerick, Knock and Navan.

Colm Brady, business development director of Europcar Ireland, commented, “Our business is experiencing strong growth and we are embarking on an expansion phase to capitalise on that growth. The creation of 50 jobs and the opening of these two new branches show the extent of our ambition for the Irish market.

”Four per cent of all cars registered in Ireland in 2012 to date have been registered by Europcar which illustrates our scale. We have adapted to the demands of the market and diversified our offering to meet the needs of both consumers and corporates. We have a dedicated team working on corporate business providing fleet solutions from two to 100 vehicles, for both cars and vans, and we see this as a major area of growth for the company.”
