Stereolab’s Laetitia Sadier to play Róisín Dubh

STEREOLAB VOCALIST Laetitia Sadier is coming to Galway to play the Róisín Dubh as part of a tour promoting her new solo album Silencio.

The London based, Paris born, musician, along with Tim Gane, has been at the helm of neo-Krautrock/electroninca band Stereolab since 1990. The band is currently on hiatus, following 2010’s very fine Not Music and since then Sadier has concentrated on her solo career. In her music she matches a Marxist world view with retro-pop, left field music, and electronica.

Silencio, released during the summer, has been described by Pitchfork as matching “Sadier’s husky alto with lush synths, pretty melodies, and the occasional presence of a café-infused Latin-style acoustic strum that suggests a Wes Anderson-directed make-out scene.”

Laetitia Sadier plays the Róisín Dubh on Saturday November 10 at 9pm. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
