Galway farmer to feature in Tesco campaign

Local lamb farmer Al Murphy, based just outside of Ballinasloe, Co Galway, will see his photo featured on the front of Finest* West of Ireland Lamb products in Tesco stores across Ireland as part of the retailer’s campaign to highlight its support for Irish suppliers.

Al Murphy has been farming on his 68 hectare farm in Co.Galway for more than 30 years and has supplied west of Ireland lamb to Tesco for the last number of years.

“For customers to be able to see the farmer who supplies their product is very important and a positive step in helping to encourage customers to buy Irish and support their local businesses and jobs.”

According to Tesco some €700 million worth of Irish food and drink products are exported to Tesco stores around the world each year. Irish beef exports to Tesco Group total €177 million each year - 14 per cent of all beef exports from Ireland.
