The second in a series of history lectures at Claregalway Castle will take place on Saturday.
Entitled 'The Fall of Rome', the lecture will discuss the western Roman Empire's collapse in the 5th century AD which resulted in economic decline and recession throughout Europe, war and religious extremism.
This talk explores this historical period and asks whether or not today’s society might learn from some of the mistakes which the imperial government of Ancient Rome made.
Accompanied by audio/visual presentation, the talk endeavours to inform, stimulate discussion and, above all, excite the imagination of what once was Gloria Romanorvm.
The presentation takes place from 3pm to 5pm. Admission is €10/€8 concession.
