TaxAssist Accountants celebrates one year anniversary

With new business start-up failure rates still so high, local success stories are thin on the ground. This month, however, Cross Street based business TaxAssist Accountants is bucking the trend by celebrating its first year in operation.

Owner, Eoin McGreal, remarked: “The past year has been very exciting for us. We’ve gone from a one-man operation to a thriving business in a very short period of time.”

Providing help and support to other local small and medium businesses is a key aim for Eoin McGreal and to that end he offers a free one hour business planning service for all new clients.

“We’re very busy with people looking for help with their tax returns at the moment. Everyone is keen to ensure they are not overpaying their tax bill and we can definitely help with that. We’re meeting clients face to face to discuss their particular situations and we also only ever work on a fixed fee basis; clients like the peace of mind that brings.”

One year on Eoin says he would not change a thing. He is his own boss, loves what he is doing, and business has increased every month.

“It is daunting at first, but I’d always wanted to work for myself and I was confident that my business model would work. I love meeting small business owners every day of the week and getting to know their business. We are going from strength to strength and I expect that to continue. The last year has been very hard work, but it has been incredibly rewarding and satisfying.”

Passionate about the potential of Irish start-up talent, Eoin McGreal offers the following advice to anyone considering self-employment - “research and plan, stay focused and always ask for advice”.
