BORN Clothing, Galway’s leading fashion house will be opening an independent, stand alone footwear and accessories store on Eglingon Street (beside the Post Office ) on Friday October 19.
The second footwear store under the BORN umbrella (the other being located in BORN Clothing, Newtownsmith ) will stock an exciting range of gorgeous ladies footwear, accessories and handbags, with Jean Maxwell managing the buying for BORN Footwear. Having previously worked for many years as the regional manager for Carl Scarpa, managing and buying stock for 15 Carl Scarpa branches through Ireland she brings a weath of experience in footwear buying from Milan, Germany and London.
Ms Maxwell began working at BORN when a great opportunity arose in 2009 when BORN Clothing launched its new footwear department in the Newtownsmith store. She was offered the challenge of launching this new store as the footwear buyer and manager and has successfully taken BORN’s footwear store from strengh to strength.
Ms Maxwell conveyed her love of working in the footwear industry. “Fashion and in particular footwear is a huge passion of mine. I am a very creative individual and love bringing together a collection based on current fashion trends. Buying the styles and seeing them sell is what I love most about my job.”
She commented, “This is such an exciting move for BORN Footwear, as we know with the current economic climate stores are closing down and we are striving to go forward with this new venture. The collection of footwear will differ from that in Newtownsmith carrying such international lines as Joni, Cressey, KMiddleton, Carmens, EMU and BEBO. We will also be stocking fabulous jewellery from day to evening wear and a stunning range of scarves and hats. Handbags from Milan and Paris will also feature heavily alongside the Autumn/Winter footwear collection.”
BORN Footwear will open tomorrow Friday October 19 at 12noon with a 20 per cent sale on all stock from Friday to Sunday.
