One of the best games for entertainment and end-to-end action of the entire weekend took place last Saturday in Pearse Stadium in the county Junior A replay where Ballinasloe beat Clifden 2-16 to 4-9.
It was an enthralling game that could have gone either way until the very end. Ballinasloe's Paul Whelehan was selected as Man of the Match and county defender Keith Kelly captained the side and was presented with the Irish Purity Cup after the win.
Ballinaloe will play in the Galway intermediate championship next year.
However of more immediate concern for the club is the Connacht Junior club championship quarter-final which is on in Carrick-on-Shannon next Sunday (2.30pm ) when they will face Leitrim Gaels (Leitrim ).
