Stand up comedy for kids

STAND-UP comedy is usually seen as something for adults, for late nights, and for bars and clubs, but won’t somebody please think of the children.

Steve Hartley certainly has and he is ensuring children are no longer excluded from the stand-up comedy audience.

Steve will be in Galway to present Danny Baker Record Breaker – The Show, the first stand-up comedy show for families at the Baboró children’s festival. The show takes place in An Taibhdhearc this Sunday at 2pm and 4pm and will see Steve present a stage version of his hilarious book of the same title, which will include tips on writing great stories, singing, acting, impressions of sea-creatures, a gigantic pair of pink knickers, and if the talent is available, the Galway Armpit Orchestra.

Steve Hartley will also join authors Joyce and Polly Dunbar for a reading on Sunday at 12 noon in Charlie Byrne’s Bookshop for families with children aged from three to seven.
