THE GALWAY Baroque Singers’ annual Christmas concert takes place in the Galway Cathedral on Saturday December 13 at 8pm.
Entitled Thou Shalt Know Him When He Comes, the show will feature choral pieces by Bach, Tallis, Lauridsen, and Stanford, followed by Christmas music and carols in which the audience will be invited to participate. The choir will be accompanied by organist Raymond O’Donnell.
This year has been a good one for the choir - founded by musical director Audrey Corbett 25 years ago. Last week Ms Corbett was conferred with an honorary masters degree in music by NUI, Galway. In October they toured Italy and in May the choir was invited by RTÉ to sing the Irish premiere of Karl Jenkins’ Stabat Mater.
Bob Quinn’s award winning film Vox Humana which features the Galway Baroque Singers will be shown on TG4 on December 30 at 9pm.
