Coming to a town near you — Galway County & City Enterprise Board is marking SME Week October 15-21 with a major roadshow around Galway county and a series of events which will provide information and inspiration to individuals with business ideas and also to established businesses. The roadshow arrives in Galway on October Thursday 18 from 1pm – 2pm in the City Council Chambers, College Road.
The Roadshow features Pádraic Ó Máille, creator and founder of Smácht - a group coaching programme designed to help people apply discipline in key areas of their business and life. Local busineswoman Hilary Foley of Foca, Ireland’s Raw Kitchen will also be there to talk about his story. Breda Fox, CEO of the Galway County & City Enterprise Board will be there to meet you and talk about supports.
CEO of the GCCEB, Breda Fox said: “we are delighted to have the opportunity to be in Galway and this event is to highlight the vibrant business community which exists in the county and has produced several success stories over the past decade including Hilary Foley.”
Ms Fox has added that: “I believe that there are many local people with fantastic business ideas but just need a little bit of support and hand holding to make it happen. These Roadshows allow us to meet local entrepreneurs and small businesses to give information on supports. It demonstrates that there are organisations such as the Galway County & City Enterprise Board and other experts available and willing to help you’.
Local businesswoman Hilary Foley, managing director of Ireland’s Raw Kitchen will be will be one of the speakers on the day. Having experience as a chef Ms Foley has developed a long standing interest in food and nutrition. Her own health issues have driven her to find healthier options in relation to food and lifestyle. That coupled with Ms Foley’s experience in being self-employed and having the desire to be creative in business and in food has led her to build a company with a constant drive to develop new and exciting products that will enable people to make healthier lifestyle choices.
Ireland's Raw Kitchen a client of the GCCEB is currently retailing its products through the internet and wholesaling to health food shops throughout Ireland and abroad. Currently it is working with GCCEB and other agencies to develop a range of new and innovative healthy seaweed based products due to be launched in mid 2013.
Foca is a local success story and Ms Foley said: “I look forward to meeting and sharing my story with local people on the night.”
