A day of dance for Lily Mae

Ireland’s dance community will join forces in Dublin this Sunday for the Day of Dance for Lily Mae, a major fundraising event for a seriously ill Claregalway girl.

The Day of Dance for Lily Mae, which is taking place in DanceHouse, Foley Street, Dublin, is seeking to raise funds for Lily Mae Morrison, who is fighting neuroblastoma, a rare childhood cancer.

The four-year-old is the daughter of Judith Sibley and Leighton Morrison of Galway dance companies Chrysalis and Youth Ballet West.

On the day there will be more than 48 classes on offer, from 10am to 5pm, ranging from beginner to professional level and from babies through to older adults. Styles covered include ballet, contemporary, tango, Pilates, yoga, hip-hop, jazz, musical theatre, Hoola-Hoop, somatics, showgirl, line-dancing, and more.

Classes are €10 each and The Sunni Mae Trust, which is raising funds for Lily Mae, as well as other families affected by neuroblastoma, hopes to raise €8,000. To donate to the trust go to www.idonate.ie/lily
