Galway Thai-Kickboxing Club

The Galway Thai-Kickboxing club is based in the boxing club in Westside and in GMIT Galway. It has been in existence since 1997. This club has produced 76 Irish champions in Thai boxing, kickboxing, and boxing. It is the only club in Ireland to have achieved Irish champions in all three disciplines.

The club trains five times a week, Monday and Wednesday 8pm to 10pm, Tuesday 5pm to 7pm, Friday 7.30pm to 9pm, and Saturday 10am to 12 noon. It trains all age groups, both male and female, and levels from those who just want to get fit and lose weight to those who want to compete in the ring.

Boxing has become very popular with girls due to the magnificent achievement of Katie Taylor in the Olympics, and it is now the fastest growing female sport in Ireland. This is a great opportunity to get involved.

The club also teaches Thai boxing, which has become hugely popular around the world, and is rapidly growing in Ireland. This sport is ideal for people who want to lose weight and tone up, and is also great for those who want to challenge themselves with an intense workout.

If you are interested in taking up these sports or need more information, contact Pat McEvoy at 086 1700129, e-mail [email protected] or find ‘Galway Lumpini’ on Facebook. All coaches are certified under the IABA, IMC, and ITEC, and the head couch is also an ITEC qualified dietician and personal trainer.
