EU Commissioner to officially open Sea2Sky

The European Commissioner for research, innovation, and science Máire Geoghegan-Quinn is to preside over the official opening of the Irish segment of European Researchers Night which is part of the Sea2Sky celebration.

The commissioner will officially open the evening’s event at 3pm on Friday, September 28, to coincide with events starting right across Europe, across 800 venues in 320 cities. In Ireland, the festivities will take place in Galway and Cork, as part of Sea2Sky which is organised by NUI Galway with huge support from partners the Marine Institute and Galway Atlantaquaria, and CIT Blackrock Castle Observatory in Cork.
