Green Earth Organics to hold open day during National Organic Week

National Organic Week celebrates the work being done by thousands of food producers all over Ireland who are committed to farming organically. Throughout the week, organic producers, retailers, and farmers’ markets nationwide will host events including organic farm walks, cookery demonstrations, barbecues, harvest feasts, complimentary in-store tastings, and talks.

Green Earth Organics farm is opening its fields and polytunnel doors to everyone this Saturday, September 15, from 11am to 5pm as part of the initiative.

Go for a ramble around the farm, listen to owner Kenneth Keavey on a guided walk as he talks about what they grow and how they grow it. Look in at the packing shed and see how they get the lovely fresh produce direct from their farm to your door. Wander through the polytunnels and pick your own tomatoes. Buy the veg that you see growing from the farm shop.

While you have a tea or a coffee before getting your face painted, you can feed the donkeys. Finish off the day with ‘Growers’ question time’ and get lots of great tips for growing your own fresh veggies.

Parking is in Corrandulla village and there is a shuttle bus leaving every 15 minutes or so to take you the mile to the farm and back. Theres is no parking at the farm.
