S**t Robot to play Róisín Dubh

DESPITE THE stage name he has chosen for himself, there is nothing ‘shit’ about Marcus Lambkin, his music, or his live shows.

According to Nialler9, Dubliner Marcus has been called “the Godfather of DFA Records”, influencing the foundation of the label which was started by LCD Soundsystem’s James Murphy and Tim Goldsworthy. The NME said “his ability to craft sublime slices of electro house and muscular techno pop trumps everything else about him”.

In 2010 he released his debut album From The Cradle To The Rave and more recently has released the single ‘Space Race’/‘Teenage Bass’. It is the first in a series of releases called ‘The Green Machine’, which will culminate in an album early next year.

“After the album I just wanted to go back to my roots and make some dance 12”s, music for people to get drunk and jump around to,” he has said.

Shit Robot plays the Róisín Dubh on Friday September 22 at 10pm. Tickets are available at www.roisindubh.net, from the Ticket Desk at OMG, Shop Street (formerly Zhivago ), and The Róisín Dubh.
