Two events taking place in Ballinasloe on Culture Night will centre on drumming and percussion, with a drumming competition for local schools, and a public performance and barbecue.
Meadow Cross Cultural Association will hold a competition at the Vault Space, Marina Point, from 4pm to 8pm, with 140 people from three primary schools and Youth Work Ireland playing a variety of drums and percussion instruments from around the world. There will also be a temporary museum of culture featuring artwork, sculptures and poems in the Emerald Ballroom, Society Street, on Saturday September 22 from 10am to 3pm.
Local personalities, community groups, and individuals from diverse cultures will participate in drum circles at an event in the Vault Space from 8pm to 10pm on Culture Night. This event will also feature an international barbecue.
