THE SPECIALS lit up the British charts in the late 1970s and early 1980s with their furious mix of ska and socialism, and those days can be relived at HALO tomorrow.
The Very Specials, Ireland’s only tribute act to the iconic Coventry group, are a nine piece outfit with full brass section. Expect to heart classic Specials’ hits like ‘Ghost Town’, ‘Too Much Two Young’, A Message to You, Rudy’, and ‘Gangsters’. The musicians will be decked out in Fred Perry T-shirts and pork pie hats to boot.
Doors open at 11pm. Admission is €5 with women free before midnight. If you miss this gig catch them in the TF Royal in Castlebar with support DJ Dave Barry on Saturday night.
