If you are looking for an adventurous way to raise money for a worthy cause, COPE Galway is currently seeking people to take part in the COPE Galway Skydive 2012.
Participants will undertake a tandem (attached to an experienced diver ) freefall of 10,000 feet in October.
“The idea was suggested by one of our volunteers who thought that if he was ever going to do something crazy and reckless it might as well be for a good cause,” said Claire O’Grady of COPE Galway. “He was so convincing that we decided to do it and he has even convinced me to do it alongside him. If you are interested in joining us on our skydive and giving back to your local homeless charity please contact COPE Galway for a sponsorship pack.”
COPE Galway is a local charity which provides services to the most isolated in the community, including a refuge for victims of domestic violence, accommodation and support for the homeless, and meals and social supports for older people living alone. All funds raised by the skydive will go towards maintaining these and other services.
All those who register for the skydive will be referred to Skydive Ireland which will give participants a sponsorship pack. Participants are asked to raise a minimum of €500, which covers the cost of the dive.
You can register online at www.copegalway.ie, call Claire or Sarah on 091 778750, or email [email protected]
