Hurling final to push Galway Memorial Walk into morning start

The Galway Memorial Walk, in aid of Galway Hospice, will now take place at 12 noon on Sunday September 9, earlier than advertised. The new time is due to Galway’s success in the hurling championship, as the earlier start will allow walkers to be home in time for the 3.30pm throw-in of the All-Ireland final.

The walk is now in its seventh year and those wishing to participate must register by August 24. Proceeds from the event will go to Galway Hospice Home Care and Day Care services, which cost up to €1.5m per year to provide.
