Drug dealing accused sent forward for trial

A man accused of being in possession of more than €5,700 worth of drugs with intent to sell or supply has been sent forward for trial.

Lukasz Pieprzak (28 ), a Polish national, with an address given as 99 Sandyvale Lawn, Head, was brought before Galway District Court last week charged with being in possession of bromodimethoxphenethylamine and being in possession of the drug with intent to sell or supply at Tyrone, Kilcolgan, Co Galway on May 4, 2011, as well as being in possession of cannabis and possession of the drug with intent to sell or supply at Galway Retail Park, Headford Road, on May 4, 2011.

The court had previously heard how drugs valued at €5,748 were discovered and that this was made up of 72 grams of cannabis with an estimated street value of €828, and 984 tablets with an estimated street value of €4,920.

Inspector Ernie Whyte told the court this week that the Director of Public Prosecutions has consented to the accused being sent forward for trial.

Judge Mary Fahy further remanded the accused in custody with consent to High Court bail and ordered that he be sent forward for trial to the next sittings of Galway Circuit Criminal Court commencing October 4, 2012.
