This week sees the launch of the Cellar Bar and Restaurant’s new food menu, adding even more variety to the extensive range already available at this busy city centre venue.
Mindful of the loyalty of the huge customer base that gives the Cellar that great ‘buzz’, all of the favourites are still available, and are joined by several new and interesting choices, from Greek salad of feta cheese, olives, oregano, mixed leaves, cucumber, red onion, and sun-blushed tomato, to the prime Irish steak sandwich, a seared minute steak on a toasted ciabatta with garlic and wholegrain mustard mayonnaise, lettuce, tomato, red onion, and your choice of sautéed onions, mushrooms, and peppercorn sauce; or tomato relish, jalapeños, and Emmental cheese.
For fish lovers, grilled fillet of Galway Bay salmon or cod is now available served with your choice of wok fried vegetables and creamed potato, roasted red pepper, and sundried tomato sauce; gratinated with goat’s cheese, tomato, and red onion marmalade presented on a Mediterranean style salad, dill and lemon mayonnaise, accompanied with a portion of fries; or lightly spiced, rested on a bed of vegetable ratatouille and steamed rice, with a citrus crème fraiche.
There are many other exciting additions to the menu, including light bites like toasted ciabatta with hummus, sun dried tomato, basil pesto, and black olives. A whole new range of sandwiches, panini, wraps, ciabattas, and baps is also introduced.
If you have room for a little more, it will be difficult to resist the decadent new desserts such as chocolate and orange pudding, and fruit of the forest mixed berry cheesecake.
You will also find a fine selection of carefully chosen wines, available by the bottle at €16.95, and for that extra special occasion, the crispy, fruity, Prosecco cannot be beaten.
The Cellar provides a range of two-course specials every day for €9.95 — incredible value considering the prime location of this bar and restaurant, directly opposite Brown Thomas in the heart of the city centre.
