High stakes for Races fashion

The Galway Races are soon approaching, and as always the fashion stakes are high. It is time to go on the hunt for the perfect dress for Ladies’ Day.

For me it is all about creating a streamlined demure look, I love simple silhouettes. Form-fitting dresses to the knee are sexy and functional for that day at the track.

Choose bright vivid statement colours, coral is a personal favourite, it is fresh and fun without being too loud. The fan dresses are making a big come back this summer, this pleated effect on the skirt is super flattering on all shapes. I tend to pop a waist belt on when I can as it gives the illusion of a smaller waist and can create curves on a more boyish figure. To finish off, slip on a pair of nude shoes, they work with everything and make your legs look endless.

BORN Clothing has a massive selection of dresses to choose from and stocks an array of brands from Lipsy, TFNC, to Maggi and Me and are now stocking the celebrity favourite So Amazing.

It also stocks stunning head pieces, hats and fascinators to finish your look All 30 per cent off this weekend with some styles starting at €28.

If hats are not your thing then simply add a bit of bling to a simple outfit, accessorise with a chunky necklace and a statement ring. Go straight from day to night by wearing a pair of reliable wedges and a hot clutch then you are ready for a night on the town.

BORN Clothing is open seven days a week and has six stores throughout Ireland – Newtownsmith and Galway Shopping Centre in Galway city, Tuam Shopping Centre in Co Galway, Athlone Town Centre in Co Westmeath, Thurles Shopping Centre in Co Tipperary and Laois Shopping Centre in Portlaoise, Co Laois.
