Following Galway’s impressive 3-14 to 0-10 victory over Wexford last Saturday in Kenny Park they are through to this year’s All-Ireland senior semi-final.
It was Galway’s best performance of their campaign to-date and Tony Ward will be pleased with how his panel is progressing.
Two goals in the opening two minutes by Brenda Hanney and Martina Conroy settled Galway and when player of the match, Conroy poached her second green flag after 20 minutes, they were not going to be caught and they went in at half time leading by 3-9 to 0-4.
Ursula Jacob was the sole attacking threat for a Wexford unit denied the considerable talents of Mary and Una Leacy and Galway will be well aware of the need to continue to improve if they have hopes of going all the way this year.
