JACK AND Tommy are on their annual St Patrick’s Week jaunt in New York and planning to hit the bars of The Big Apple with a vengeance.
Despite all the craic, Jack knows he wants something more out of life, but whose advice should he listen to? The in-the-know bar owner Stan, who sees great possibilities for Jack in New York? Or Tommy, whose motives may not be all in Jack’s interest?
This is Ahhhh Lad!! which will be staged in Garvey’s Pub, Eyre Square, from the Monday July 23 to Saturday 28th at 1pm and in The Cube in NUI Galway from Sunday July 22 to Wednesday 25 at 8.30pm. The play is part of the Galway Fringe Festival.
The play was written and directed by Patrick O’Byrne and is a funny and heartfelt look at the psyche of the modern Irish working-class male. It will be staged by The Huddle Theatre Company. Ahhhh Lad!! won Best Play at The Jerome Hynes One-Act Series in Galway in March.
