Rave reviews in New York for DruidMurphy

DruidMurphy, Druid’s ambitious staging of three of Tuam playwright Tom Murphy’s finest plays, has been receiving rave reviews in New York.

DruidMurphy opened last weekend in the city’s Lincoln Center Festival and will conclude this Saturday. The New York Times said of the production: “As long as the theatre produces artists like Ms Hynes and her collaborators...[Tom Murphy] will remain a voice worth attending to.” The review added: “As always with this remarkable company, the acting is of a quality to leave you dumbstruck with admiration.”

The New York shows follows on from the outstanding success of the London opening last month, which was attended by President Michael D Higgins and enjoyed rave reviews from British and Irish theatre critics alike.

DruidMurphy returns to the Galway Arts Festival from July 23 to 28 where the entire run is already sold out. The tour continues to Oxford, Cork, Clifden, Tuam, the Aran Islands and Dublin, and will conclude its five month tour in October when it performs at the Kennedy Center in Washington DC.
