Folk and roots @ Citóg

TWO OF Galway’s finest folk and roots influenced acts - A Band Called Wanda and Fia Rua - will play Citóg at The Cellar Bar tomorrow at 9.30pm.

A Band Called Wanda describe themselves as “folk’n’roll” and have played support to David Gray, Alabama 3, Stornoway, and The Saw Doctors. They released their debut mini-album, Roses Are Still Red in 2010, tracks from which were played on BBC Radio Scotland and RTÉ Radio 1.

Fia Rua (aka Eoghan Burke ) writes songs strongly influenced by both the Irish folk tradition and rock music. His album Falling Time was described by Hotpress as “a folking brilliant piece of work”.

Also on the bill is Galway band Vickers Vimy. Admission is free.
