DENMARK’S Kammerkoret Audite Choir will give the world premiere of two new works at their concert in St Nicholas’ Collegiate Church this evening.
The 20-strong choir from Copenhagen will perform ‘Requiem for the Croppies’ and ‘Had I Not Been Awake’ by Hans- Erik Philip, with lyrics by Seamus Heaney. They will also perform works by Grieg, Sibelius, Stanford, Poulenc, and Pärt.
“We are delighted to be singing in the historical church of St Nicholas’,” said choir director Beate Willmar.
Doors are at 7.30pm. Admission to the concert is free but donations towards the St Nicholas’ maintenance fund will be accepted.
