THIS SUNDAY at 4pm, The Eye Cinema in Wellpark will screen the Bolshoi Ballet’s production of the great romantic Russian ballet, Raymonda, live via satellite from Moscow.
Set during the Crusades, this swashbuckling romantic ballet features an exotic and sumptuous score by Alexander Glazunov. It tells the story of Raymonda, a beautiful noblewoman who is engaged to marry the knight Jean de Brienne.
During her lover’s absence on the crusades, another knight attempts to abduct her, but she is saved by the intervention of a protecting spirit, the White Lady, allowing Brienne time to returns and confront his rival.
