Wild West revival to raise funds for local cancer charity

People are being invited to celebrate the wild west later this month and help raise vital funds for a local cancer charity.

As part of their innovative new campaign called “Help us to help others” staff, customers and the local community around Kavanagh’s SuperValu in Clifden will dust off the cowboy boots and take to the dance floor of Keogh’s, Ballyconneely on June 23rd for a barn dance in aid of Cancer Care West.

The fundraiser will kick off at 9pm and will feature everything from country music to line dancing, bonfires to Texas BBQ buffets, rodeo bulls to spot prizes and a disco to wrap up what is expected to be a great night.

Supermarket manager Joe Lynch extends a warm welcome to everyone. “Get suited and booted and come along to what will be a great night in aid of Cancer Care West. Tickets are €20 and are available from Kavanagh.s SuperValu in Clifden and Keogh’s, Ballyconneely.”

The “Help Us to Help Others” campaign, which was launched in April, involves staff members from Kavanagh’s SuperValu undertaking a series of novel fundraising events, engaging their customers and communities along the way in their quest to raise €10,000 for Cancer Care West.

Each time a customer swipes their Real Rewards card in SuperValu, Clifden the Kavanagh Group will make a donation to Cancer Care West from now until October 2012.
