The Young Folk at the Roisin Dubh

The Young Folk are among Ireland’s rising folk musicians. Formed just this year by Anthony Furey, the band, consisting of Furey, Paul Butler, Karl Hand, Tony McLoughlin, and Karen Hickey, have already played on the festival circuit and appeared on Today with Pat Kenny.

Their live show is already highly regarded for their technical skills and raw energy. Honed during the year with appearances at Castlepalooza, Vantastival, Knockanstockan and the Florø festival in Norway, The Young Folk bring their music to the Roisin Dubh next Monday, June 11, as part of the Galway Sessions.

The band are also currently recording material for their debut album which is slated for release in late autumn. They will also play the Sea Sessions and Spirit of Folk festival, and will be supporting Mary Coughlan on her Swedish tour in September.
