THE BRILLIANT Jape, led by Redneck Manifesto bassist Richie Egan, will headline a strong line-up of Irish rock and indie bands at the Jägermeister Freezer Sessions in the Róisín Dubh.
The Jägermeister Freezer Sessions, presented by Hotpress, takes place on Thursday June 21 at 8pm and will feature Jape, Dott, The Riptide Movement, and Preacher’s Son.
Jape has twice won the Choice Music Award, first in 2009 for his second album Ritual and again for last year’s Ocean Of Frequency. Through songs such as ‘Floating’, ‘I Was A Man’, and ‘To The Sea’, Richie has proven himself to be one of the most creative and imaginative songwriters in the country.
Dott are a Galway based indie-pop/garage rock band whose songs are full of catchy choruses and vocal harmonies. Led by singer-songwriter Anna McCarthy, the band have already impressed many with their excellent debut EP Button, which was released this month.
The Riptide Movement are enjoying critical and public acclaim for their particular brand of classic rock and their recently released second album, Keep On Keepin’ On, has been enjoying positive reviews.
Preachers Son are led by Brian Hogan of Kilá and find the man taking a step away from trad/world music and exploring hard rock. He has described the band’s as being “like a David Byrne, Scott Walker collaboration, or Queen’s greatest hits circa 1980 vs Morrison Hotel.”
Admission is free but entry is with a ticket only. To get your free tickets go to http://www.hotpress.com/thefreezersessions/
Those attending the Galway gig will receive a free Freezer Sessions album, featuring the acts playing at the sessions gigs across Ireland.
