Jezzebelle - ‘high octane’ rhythm’n’roots

DUBLIN’S JEZZEBELLE have been impressing the critics this year and Galway can hear what the fuss is about when they play Monroe’s Live on Wednesday at 11pm.

Siobhan Long in The Irish Times said their “high octane-propulsion and driving dogmatic rhythms mark them out from the crowd” while Jackie Hayden in Hotpress said Jezzebelle vocalist Katie Carpenter “is a fine, spirited singer”.

The duo’s music is rhythm’n’roots and both Katie and guitarist/vocalist Gary Burke cite Fleetwood Mac and Bruce Springsteen as their influences.

Jezzebelle released their EP Back To The Start in March. It features five songs and is an all-acoustic collection. They also launched Jezzebelle Rolling - a monthly “get to know the band” video blog.

Admission is €5.
