ALALÉ, THE Galway-Spanish-Belgian band, launch their new album Breakfast In Mayo in Kelly’s Bar, Bridge Street, tonight at 8pm.
The band features three Spaniards and a Belgian, who play jigs and reels, rumbas and bulerias, and Irish traditional and Flemish folk songs.
The band are Gabriel G Diges (Irish flute, whistles, and Galician pipes ); Stephanie Swanton (fiddle, vocals ); Esteban Moreno (guitar ), and David Cardona (bodhrán ). For the Kelly’s show they will be joined by Ciarán Ó Donghaile (uileann pipes, flute ); Sara Diges (Spanish pandereta ); and Carlos Zamora (percussion ).
The band has played and toured extensively in festivals and venues in Ireland and the continent. They have also appeared on BBC and TG4.
Breakfast In Mayo was recorded and produced in An Spidéal by Ed Kenehan, who has previously worked with Lúnasa. It is available on iTunes, Amazon, and Spotify. Signed copies will be available at the CD launch for €10.
