IKF Five Nations kickboxing champion Gary Manogue from the Galway Black Dragon Kickboxing Club was the unanimous winner over Welsh hard man Andrew Davies in a four-round international bout in Waterford at the weekend. The win sees Manogue bring his record to an unbeaten 17 fights.
His next fight is in Galway’s Menlo Park Hotel against tough Dubliner Damian Darker on June 30 before flying out three weeks later to the IKF World Classic Championships in Orlando, Florida.
Yvonne McNevin from Galway also fought on Saturday and she took on Chloe Thomas from Wales on a week’s notice and managed to get a well-deserved draw, while junior fighter Troy Nolan from Galway defeated Waterford’s Ryan Erkal in an entertaining contest in what was a debut fight for both.
