Amnesty International talk on non-violent resistance

Amnesty International in Galway is hosting a talk on non-violent resistance by activist Maxine Kaufman-Lacusta, author of Refusing To Be Enemies.

The lecture will take place in Amnesty International’s Human Rights Action Centre, 2-3 Middle Street, tomorrow at 7pm.

Canadian Maxine Kaufman-Lacusta is the author of Refusing To Be Enemies: Palestinian and Israeli Non-violent Resistance to the Israeli Occupation. The book features interviews with more than 100 non-violent activists, mostly Palestinians and Israelis.

The interviewees reflect on their involvement in non-violent resistance; speak about non-violent strategies and tactics; obstacles encountered in the pursuit of a just peace; and the challenges of joint struggle in a divided society.

All are welcome and admission is free.
