Paddy Hughes is a well known healer who claims to possess a gift which has been in his family for over a century. His aunt, also a healer, passed her gift on to him more than 30 years ago.
Paddy Hughes is reputed to have close to 30 different cures. He heals through prayer and also uses other remedies including oatmeal to cure asthma, angina, and headaches, and sand to get rid of warts and veruccas.
He said he cannot explain how it works, but he is a great believer in the power of prayer.
Paddy Hughes gets requests from people from all walks of life. “When they have tried the rest, they come to me,” he added.
He also works on animals and has great success in curing orf in sheep. According to Mr Hughes a phone call can relieve red water in cattle or pink eye in animals.
Paddy Hughes will be in the Ard Ri Hotel, Tuam, on May 15 and 22 from 1pm to 7pm.
