Galwegians interested in volunteering for community, sports, and arts organisations should go to the Volunteer Fair in the Eyre Square Shopping Centre on Saturday May 19.
The fair will be held along the restored old city wall from 12 noon to 6pm where information on all aspects of volunteering will be provided. Various organisations seeking volunteers will be available to meet the public.
The Volunteer Fair is being organised by Galway Volunteer Centre and is taking place during National Volunteering Week which runs from May 14 to 20.
“We will have organisations who are working hard in the community, and need extra help to carry out their good work,” said Donncha Foley, development manager with the Galway Volunteer Centre. “Most volunteer work doesn’t involve a huge commitment of time, and it is a great way to learn new skills, meet new people, and make a positive contribution to life in Galway.”
