Funding is urgently required for five septic tanks in the Milltown Sewerage Scheme in Tuam in order to accommodate houses not included in the original scheme.
This is the view of Galway East Fianna Fáil TD Michael Kitt who is calling on the Government to approve funding for this measure.
“There are five houses on the Dunmore/Irishtown Road in Milltown, Tuam, that were not built at the time that a preliminary design for the Milltown Sewerage Scheme was carried out. As a result, they were not included in the scheme,” said Dep Kitt.
The Galway County Council has submitted a detailed proposal for the development to the Department of the Environment.
Dep Kitt is “urging the Department to do the right thing” and approve the plans without delay.
“This is a small issue that could be resolved quickly and at minimal cost,” he said. “However, it will make a big difference to the households affected.”
