The Galway Film Centre on Wellpark Road has some new courses coming up for film enthusiasts and film-makers over the summer.
In early May, there are workshops in different aspects of editing. These one/two day courses include: An introduction to Final Cut Pro X; the new updated editing package from Apple; How to colour grade in order to improve the look of your films; and How to use DVD Studio Pro to make professional quality DVDs.
In June, a new weekend film school starts. It will be tutored by industry professionals and will offer a hands-on, step by step, approach that will take 10 participants from a starting idea to a finished film. The course runs for seven weekends during which two short films will be devised, scripted, shot and edited.
There will be a four day scriptwriting clinic with professional script editor Mark McIlrath. There will be four places for writers and two places for trainee script editors.
Early booking for all courses is advised. To book contact Mary on 091 - 770748, email [email protected], or see www.galwayfilmcentre.ie
