Boston Scientific is to end the contracts of up to 150 employees at its Galway operations over the course of the next five months.
A spokesperson for Boston Scientific confirmed yesterday that the contracts of approximately 150 fixed term employees are expected to end and will not be renewed over the course of the next five months, due to the fact that the production of various product launches has been completed.
The statement went on to explain: “Over the course of a 15 month period, Boston Scientific Galway temporarily hired approximately 400 additional local people for fixed term contracts to support various company product launches around the world.
“Now that the product manufacturing portion of the launches have been completed, production at Boston Scientific Galway is expected to begin returning to normal levels. This impacts approximately 150 fixed term employees on the Galway campus.”
